The early signs and symptoms of pregnancy are totally variable and differ person to person. No two women can experience the same thing. Some may experience it to it’s extreme and some may not a bit of it.

Missed Period

The most noticeable hint about getting pregnant is the Missed period.

If you are aware of your monthly period dates you will notice a missed period.

Nausea and Vomiting /Morning Sickness

You will experience nausea and vomiting at any time throughout the day, but it happens usually in the morning.

Breast changes

Breast tenderness is experienced during 4–7 weeks of pregnancy and nipples and areolas begin to darken and increase in size and evident in the last trimester.

Frequency of Micturition

Urinary frequency is experienced throughout the pregnancy and it increases with the period of pregnancy. The uterus lies between the bladder and rectum. As the Bladder (in front) is compressed by the growing uterus and rectum (back), the frequency of urination/ urge to urinate occurs.

Headache and Dizziness

You may feel headache or dizziness.

Spotting/Implantation bleeding

A light spotting or bleeding which is common and some people may experience this.


Feeling of heavy and fullness in the stomach.

Food Cravings

Craving for usual or unusual stuffs are common. Some may crave for salty and some for sweet eatables. Some people crave for inedible things- Like Chalk, soil, clay, etc. this is known as Pica.

Mood Swings

Sudden and irrational mood swings happens in some women. They feel happy, sad, irritated or frustrated at times. The reason is hormonal changes (estrogen and progesteron). Mood swings may occur in first trimester and then in last trimester as the body prepares for childbirth.


This is due to stress and bodily changes and hormones.

Lower Back pain

Back pain may also be experienced by some women.
